North Macedonia


Dotted with beautiful lakes and threaded together by a network of rivers, North Macedonia is a country of natural beauty with multiple national parks that offer outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, bird-watching, caving, horse-riding and mountain biking.  Other attractions include the Bovin Winery in Negotino, which offers a chance to sample award-winning reds and whites, and Kokino, a megalithic observatory that dates back 3,800 years.

Kosovo


Kosovo is a small but fascinating country with a proud heritage of wood craftsmanship and time-honoured customs of the Rugova Traditional Games like wrestling, stone-throwing, tug-of-war and tree-climbing competitions.  Visit Prizren Fortress, an ancient defensive structure since prehistoric times, and hike to the beautiful Mirushë and Black Stone Falls.

Montenegro


Montenegro is most famous for its serene and unspoilt nature – stunning mountain landscapes and a beautiful Adriatic coastline. Tara River, at the bottom Europe’s deepest Canyon, is excellent for rafting and kayaking. Bareboat and skippered speedboats can be chartered to trace the coastline; other water activities include kitesurfing, windsurfing, and catamaran sailing.  Admire the integration of nature and architecture at Ostrog monastery, a dramatic structure built into a cliff-face that is famous for beautiful frescoes and cave churches.
