Port Moresby

Posted February 13, 2020 by David McGuinness

Leaving Kimbe Bay was not as straightforward as it might have been. After a 6.30am breakfast we drove to Hoskins airport for a 10am flight only to be told it was cancelled, and the next one was at 4.30pm. This meant we would miss our connection to Mount Hagen too so we scrambled to rearrange logistics, meaning an overnight in Port Moresby and a morning flight to Mount Hagen the following day instead. Sadly such occurrences are par for the course in PNG and must be allowed for and expected to some extent.

We retreated back to Walindi for the rest of the morning and took a swim, had some drinks and had lunch before setting out once again for Hoskins airport. This time our flight did take off and we arrived into Port Moresby and were picked up by the Crowne Plaza bus and dropped to the hotel.
