BHUTAN: SHOWCASING HAPPINESS

Posted February 17, 2015

With prosperity measured according to happiness (GNH), it’s not surprising that Bhutan wants to throw its arms open to visitors to share a unique heritage that inhabitants believe ranks them amongst the happiest people on earth.

Running up until the 23rd February, the festival includes exhibitions featuring contemporary Bhutanese art, performances from traditional masked dancers, and talks on happiness. Huge numbers are expected in the country’s capital Thimphu with this festival also coinciding with the Tibetan Buddhist festival of Losar and the birthday of the King of Bhutan, His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
