Tour description

Vastly different from the Southern regions of Serbia, the semi-autonomous province of Vojvodina is more influenced by the Austro-Hungarian Empire than the Ottomans who ruled the more Southerly parts. This is obviously clear in the architecture as well as the attitudes of the people which are more Western-looking. The beautiful towns of Novi Sad and Subotica look and feel more like Central European towns that might be more at home in Hungary.

Devil's Town & The Danube, 7 days »

Day 1

Pick up at airport, transfer to boat for a relaxing lunch on the River Danube. Drive to hotel, refresh and rest for an hour. Walking tour of cosmopolitan Belgrade, ending in the Kalemegdan area. Enjoy Serbian cuisine in ambient restaurant. Return to hotel. Overnight in Belgrade. Meal plan: L

Day 2

Breakfast, then drive to the picturesque village of Sremski Karlovici. Wander the streets, and stop off for lunch. Head on to Northern Serbia`s fairytale city, Novi Sad. Absorb the multicultural influences and history of this enchanting city. Visit the impressive Petrovaradin fort. Rest of afternoon free to explore. Overnight in Novi Sad. Meal plan: B, L

Day 3

Breakfast. Continue with short tour of Novi Sad and then move on to Subotica, close to the Hungarian border. Enjoy lunch in a salas - sample Hungarian-style cuisine (goulash, paprika) in these traditional farm estates. Explore the brightly coloured village of Subotica and note the Hungarian architecture. Evening free to relax. Overnight in Subotica. Meal plan: B, L

Day 4

Early breakfast. Drive through the flatland of Northern Serbia back to Belgrade for return flight. Meal plan: B
