Festivals of North India

Celebrate North India`s grandest festival

Intro

With over 300 million gods, India is unrivalled when it comes to its colourful religious festivals. Learn about Hindu culture, and join millions of devotees as they celebrate the Hindu Festival of Navratri, dedicated to Goddess Shakti in her various forms. North India, in particular Mumbai, comes roaring into life with traditional song, dance and delicious food. In Kolkata meet the clay idol-makers of Kumartuli. Witness Durga Puja, where idols of Goddess Durga are carried through the city and immersed in the River Hooghly. This tour also takes in Delhi and India’s other important religious towns - Amritsar, famed for Sikhism’s glittering Golden Temple, and the hill-station of Dharamsala, home to the exiled Dalai Lama and his Buddhist followers.
